Dr. Jefferies is an internationally recognized cardiologist and the Jay M. Sullivan Endowed Chair and Chief of Cardiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). Co-Director of the UT Methodist Institute for Cardiovascular Science and a research member at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Dr. Jefferies is also the team cardiologist for the Memphis Grizzlies. The author of more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and lead editor of two cardiology textbooks, he brings unparalleled clinical rigor to LifeActive Bio’s medical strategy. He holds an MD from UTHSC, an MBA from Wharton, and an MPH from the University of Kentucky, and completed his fellowship at Baylor/Texas Heart Institute.
